Make a fragrant and creamy mashed potato for your holiday dinner. Peeled potatoes are boiled with bay leaves, then mashed or ground through a potato mill for a fluffier, smoother mash. Dress them with a mixture of hot cream and butter and sprinkle with green onions. The taste is creamy and spicy. Serve with any meat dish.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into 4 pieces
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. l. chopped chives

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan, add the bay leaf, 2 tablespoons of salt, and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  2. Drain well and remove the bay leaf. Meanwhile, heat the cream and butter in a small saucepan. Grind the potatoes through a vegetable mill into a bowl. Add the hot cream, season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir with a spoon, sprinkle with chives, and serve. main hot dish.
