Perfect mashed potatoes can be made with just three ingredients: potatoes, full-fat milk, and butter. Boil the potatoes in their skins, peel them, mash them while still hot, and season with warm milk and butter. The mashed potatoes will have a delicious consistency and a moderately creamy flavor, which you can adjust by adding butter. Serve with any meat, fish, or mushroom dish.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them completely. Season with salt and bring to a boil; simmer, uncovered, until the potatoes are tender, about 45 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes. Holding them with a potholder or towel, peel them and place them in a bowl. Add the butter and warm milk and mash with a potato masher or fork. Season with salt and pepper.

When preparing a festive table, calculate 150-200 grams of potatoes per person.
