Indian-style mashed sweet potatoes - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 900 g unpeeled sweet potatoes (sweet potato)
  • 4 tbsp (60 g) butter
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp. curry powder
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp. l. mango chutney
  • Roasted coconut flakes

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bake the sweet potatoes in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) until soft, about 1 hour. Cut the potatoes in half, then scoop out the pulp. Mash the potatoes with butter until smooth, and add salt to taste.
  2. Mix mashed potatoes with curry powder, Greek yogurt and mango chutneySprinkle toasted coconut flakes on top of the mashed potatoes.
