Add plain natural yogurt to mashed potatoes, and your side dish will become incredibly smooth and creamy. A mixture of fresh herbs—green onions, parsley, and dill—will infuse it with a refreshing aroma. Serve garnished with chopped herbs.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 900 g potatoes, unpeeled
  • 1.5 cups natural yogurt
  • 110 g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place the potatoes in a medium saucepan, cover with cold water, and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring to a boil and simmer, uncovered, until tender, about 45 minutes. Drain.
  2. Peel the potatoes and return them to the pan (if desired, puree them with a vegetable grinder or potato masher). Mash the potatoes with the yogurt and butter using a fork or potato masher. Add most of the chives, dill, parsley, and 2 teaspoons of salt; season with pepper to taste. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving platter and sprinkle with the remaining herbs.
