The combination of sour cream and green onions is very popular and works well with a variety of appetizers. Make a simple homemade sour cream sauce with chives, and add horseradish for a piquant touch. Serve with chips, crackers, or raw vegetables for dipping and enjoying.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 bunch chives, coarsely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup prepared horseradish, drain the liquid

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring a small saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add the chives and cook until soft and bright green, about 3 minutes. Drain and rinse the chives under cold water to cool completely. Gently squeeze out all the water.
  2. Place chives, sour cream, horseradish, 1 1/4 teaspoons salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a blender and blend until smooth.
