The shrimp are served with a refreshing gazpacho-style sauce made with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and chili sauce. Simply blend all ingredients and serve with boiled or grilled shrimp. The sauce is spicy, zesty, and flavorful. A perfect appetizer for house parties!

Ingredients:

  • A 10 cm long piece of baguette, crusts cut off
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 large ripe tomato (about 220 g), cut into pieces
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped chives (optional)
  • 900 g boiled shrimp, peeled, leave the tails on
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Tear the baguette into pieces, then transfer to a food processor along with the chili sauce, horseradish, vinegar, cumin, garlic, tomatoes, and 0.5 teaspoons of salt and black pepper. Blend until smooth. With the processor running, gradually pour in the olive oil and blend until smooth.
  • Step 2
  • Transfer the sauce to a small bowl and sprinkle with chives, if using. Serve with shrimp.
