Ingredients:

  • 230 g of scallops
  • 500 g of sea shrimp, heads cut off, shells removed and dark veins removed
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup tomato juice and Clamato clam mixture
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped chili pepper, seeded
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Saltine crackers or tortilla chips, for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Boil the scallops and shrimp in salted water for 2 minutes. Then chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, combine red onion, Clamato juice, ketchup, lime juice, cilantro, chili pepper, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 3
  • Add the scallops and shrimp to the sauce and toss to combine. Divide the cocktail among 4 glasses and serve with saltine crackers or tortilla chips.
