When choosing pork for sandwiches, choose pork shoulder. It requires a long braising process, but the meat turns out very juicy and rich. Before cooking, the shoulder is rubbed with a spice blend typical of Latin American cuisine, which results in a stunning flavor. You can leave the meat in the slow cooker overnight, and in the morning it will be simply melting and tender – the perfect base for delicious breakfast sandwiches. Complement the shredded, flavorful pork with thin slices of ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and red onion. You'll have a juicy, filling Cuban sandwich.
