Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Slice Cuban bread into desired size slices, usually 18 cm (7 inches). Then make a slit in the middle of the bread. Spread 30 grams (1 oz) of mustard evenly over the top of the bread. Then place 4 pickles on the mustard. Place a slice of cheese on top of the pickles. Slice the ham into desired thicknesses, preferably 45 grams (1.5 oz) per slice, but the thinner the better.

Fold each slice of ham in half and arrange evenly on the bottom of the bread. Place slices of roast pork on top of the ham, about 45 grams per slice. Then, sandwich the two halves together. Now it's ready to grill.
  2. If you have a sandwich grill, use it, but don't microwave the sandwich. If not, use a waffle iron. Spread butter evenly over the top of the bread. Close the grill, squeezing the sandwich shut.

Grill the sandwich until the top of the bread is golden brown and crispy, about 4-6 minutes. Once the sandwich is crispy, remove it and cut it diagonally, from corner to corner.
