A trip to Miami wouldn't be complete without trying the famous Cuban sandwich, which is a sandwich pressed directly onto a griddle. You'll get a hot sandwich filled with roast pork and smoked ham, topped with garlic mayo, zesty mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese. It might even make you miss your flight. Transforming a Cuban sandwich into an American experience isn't difficult: just replace the pork with a traditional patty, just like in Miami's fast food joints. Just ask for this authentic burger and enjoy a crispy bun with a juicy filling.

  1. Divide the meat into 4 equal portions, each weighing approximately 170 grams. Form each portion into a patty about 2 cm thick and make a wide indentation in the center with your thumb. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet or grill pan over high heat until shimmering. Fry the patties until golden brown and lightly charred on one side—about 3 minutes for beef and 5 minutes for turkey. Flip.

Fry the beef patties on the other side until golden brown and lightly charred - 4 minutes for medium rare (3 minutes if topped with cheese) or to your desired doneness.

Grill the turkey patties on the other side for about 5 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, top the patties with cheese, if using, and close the grill lid or cover with foil to melt the cheese.

  3. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and roasted garlic, season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread on both sides of the bun. aioli saucePlace a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun, top it with a patty, then a slice of ham, more cheese, and some pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
  4. Grill the burgers in a sandwich press or wrap them in foil and grill them in a hot skillet over high heat (press down on the burgers with a heavy skillet) until golden brown, about 1 minute 30 seconds per side, and the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
