A low-carb or gluten-free diet isn't a reason to miss out on a delicious, juicy burger. Trim the rounded ends off a head of iceberg lettuce and use them to assemble a sandwich instead of buns! The burger is so delicious, you won't even miss the bread: a thick beef patty topped with blue cheese dressing, chopped red onion, and delicious bits of fried bacon, all sandwiched between crisp lettuce leaves. If you have some tomato on hand, you can add a slice to the sandwich.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a medium cast iron skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat, turning once, until crisp, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Drain any excess rendered fat from the skillet, reserving enough to coat the bottom.
- Cut 4 rounded lettuce slices (10-12 cm) from the top and three sides of the iceberg lettuce head to create bun-shaped pieces; place on a platter.
- Form the ground beef into 2 patties, each approximately 10 cm wide and 2 cm thick, and season both sides with salt and black pepper. Place the skillet with the rendered fat over high heat, add the patties, and cook for 3 minutes; flip and cook for another 3 minutes for medium-rare.
- Place one lettuce slice, cut side up, on each of two plates and top with a burger. Spoon 1 tablespoon of dressing over each burger and add 1 tablespoon of onion. Crumble 1 slice of bacon over each burger and top with the remaining lettuce slices.
