Sandwiches are the easiest thing kids can make themselves. Teach them how to make these elegant, festive Italian-style sandwiches, which they can assemble with ease. Toasted baguette slices are spread with ricotta, drizzled with honey, then topped with a mixture of red grapes and blueberries, and topped with crunchy almonds. It's healthy, moist, and delicious.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1/4 cup sliced ​​almonds with skins
  • 3/4 cup red seedless grapes, halved
  • 0.5 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp honey + extra to drizzle over when serving
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup ricotta
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Half a baguette, cut into 15cm pieces, halved horizontally

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the almonds on a rimmed baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes; transfer to a small bowl and set aside. Evenly butter 4 baguette halves. Transfer to the baking sheet and toast until crisp, 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the grapes, blueberries, honey, and lemon juice. In a small bowl, combine the ricotta and lemon zest.

  3. Sprinkle the toasted bread halves with a pinch of salt and a little black pepper and spread 2 tablespoons of the ricotta mixture on each. Place each half on a separate serving plate, drizzle with honey, top with 1/4 cup of the fruit mixture, and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of toasted almonds. Serve drizzled with more honey.

    These recipes are suitable for children of all ages, from 4 to 10 years old. When a recipe calls for stovetop cooking or using a knife, an adult should perform these tasks, allowing the child to assist. Do not leave your child unsupervised in the kitchen. Limit them to age-appropriate tasks.
