Popovers, fluffy and airy, hollow buns, are baked with coarsely ground black pepper and Asiago cheese in this recipe. They can be served as an appetizer or in place of traditional bread with dishes featuring sauces and dips. To ensure proper puffing, pour the batter into a very hot metal muffin pan. When removed from the oven, the popovers will immediately collapse. Fill their cavities with the meat sauce and enjoy!
