Gatorade sports drink and Blue Curacao liqueur give the classic Margarita a cheerful, bright blue color and a pleasant taste. Garnish the rims of the glasses with blue decorative sugar and salt, and a contrasting orange slice completes the look.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1/4 cup blue decorative sugar
  • 1/4 cup coarse salt
  • 1 600ml bottle blue sports drink, such as Cool Blue Gatorade, refrigerated*
  • 1 cup frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 cup silver tequila
  • 1/3 tbsp. Blue Curacao
  • Fresh orange slices, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Mix the blue sugar and salt in a shallow bowl. Wet the rims of 4-6 whiskey glasses with water, then dip them into the sugar and salt mixture to coat.
  2. Combine the sports drink, limeade concentrate, tequila, and Blue Curaçao in a large pitcher and stir. Fill the glasses with ice, pour in the Margarita, and garnish each with an orange slice.
