The mint julep is one of the most popular bourbon-based cocktails. Aromatic and incredibly refreshing, it's easy to make with just a few ingredients. Besides bourbon, sugar, and mint, you'll need crushed ice. Crushed ice is essential, as other forms of ice won't create the desired effect. So take a little time to crush a good mound of ice before mixing this cocktail.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Place mint leaves in the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass and sprinkle with sugar. Muddle the leaves with a muddler. Add a splash of seltzer water, fill an Old Fashioned whiskey glass three-quarters full with crushed ice, and top with bourbon. Top with more seltzer water, stir, and garnish with a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.
