Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Mix the pancake batter by combining the dry ingredients, milk, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Stir in the strawberry jam, granola, and chopped strawberries, adding more of each if desired.
  2. Heat a nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Add a little butter to the pan and fry the pancakes on both sides until deep golden brown. Serve with sliced strawberries, granola, syrup, and vanilla yogurt.

  3. Homemade granola:
    Yield: 16 servings

    Preheat oven to 175°C.

In a bowl, combine the rolled oats with vegetable oil, melted butter, and salt. Spread the mixture on 2 baking sheets and toast in the oven for 12 minutes, stirring twice and checking to prevent burning. Set aside and let the granola cool slightly.
  4. Reduce oven temperature to 160°C.
  5. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, apple juice, and molasses. Stir until smooth, then heat over medium heat, stirring, until just barely simmering. Add vanilla extract.
  6. Combine toasted oats, cereal, wheat germ, pecans, sunflower seeds, almonds, and flax seeds. Drizzle with syrup, stirring. Stir until completely coated. The granola will be sticky!
  7. Grease a baking sheet generously with oil or line with greased foil. Spread the granola evenly on the baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let cool, then fluff the granola with a fork. Store in a jar until ready to use.
