Treat your loved ones to a special breakfast and fry up fluffy chocolate chip pancakes. For the dough, you'll need all-purpose flour, butter, any-fat milk, a little sugar, eggs, baking powder, and semisweet chocolate chips. Round chocolate chips make the pancakes look neat, but if you don't have them, use chopped chocolate instead. Fry in butter and serve hot.


Ingredients:

  • 55 g unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of any milk (whole, 2% or 1% fat)
  • 1 and 1/4 cups premium flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 170 g semi-sweet chocolate granules, or less to taste
  • Butter, for frying
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a small saucepan, combine the butter and milk. Place over low heat and heat just until the butter melts. Let cool slightly. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; whisk well.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs with a fork. Stir in the milk mixture. Add the dry ingredients and knead into a dough. Add the chocolate chips and mix.
  • Step 3
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add about 1 teaspoon of butter and melt until bubbly. Pour 3 tablespoons of batter for each pancake into the hot pan and cook until golden brown on the bottom and bubbly on the top. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 30 more seconds. Repeat until all the batter is gone. Serve the pancakes hot.
