Quesadillas are one of the most famous dishes in Mexican cuisine. Translated from Spanish, the word means "cheese tortilla." A thin wheat or corn tortilla is filled with grated cheese and various vegetable and meat fillings and fried. Three different types of hot, gooey cheese add a unique, multifaceted aroma and flavor to this dish.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 10 wheat tortillas (25 cm each)
  • Butter, for sautéing
  • 1 medium wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar
  • 2 large sweet onions, sliced ​​into rings and grilled
  • 2 - 3 roasted sweet red peppers, cut into strips
  • 6 grilled chicken breasts and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp chopped chives

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Heat a 25cm (10-inch) sauté pan over medium heat, melt the butter, and add the tortilla. Sprinkle with any cheeses you like.
  2. Put out the onion, sweet pepper, chicken, sprinkle with a little more cheese, and top with another tortilla. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the quesadilla for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown. Then flip and cook the other side in the same way.

  3. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients. Let the quesadilla cool for 2 minutes before slicing. Cut into slices like a pie. Top with a little sour cream and a sprinkle of chives.
