These burgers are incredibly juicy and delicious because beer is added to the ground meat and the patties themselves are stuffed with grated cheese. This gives them a delicious aroma and unique flavor, which is further enhanced by a fresh compote of red onion in beer. Compote is typically berries or fruit in syrup, like a typical compote, but thicker, more like jam. You'll be surprised how delicious the red onion compote is. It adds a sweet flavor to the burger that pairs beautifully with the beef.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Burgers

  • 1.3 kg ground beef
  • 1/4 cup beer
  • 2 tbsp. grill seasonings
  • 0.5 cups grated cheddar
  • Romaine lettuce
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted

Red onion compote

  • 0.5 cups of water
  • 1 and 1/4 cups of beer
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 red onions, thinly sliced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Red onion compote.

    In a medium saucepan, combine 0.5 cups of water, beer, brown sugar, and onion. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until the mixture thickens and reduces to 2 cups. Transfer the compote to a bowl and let cool completely.
  2. BurgersIn a large bowl, combine the ground beef, beer, and grill seasoning. Set aside half of the ground beef for Meatloaf recipeForm the remaining minced meat into 4 identical flat patties. Place 2 tablespoons of cheese in the center of each patty and wrap it in the minced meat, forming balls. Then flatten each ball to form a patty with the cheese inside. Place the patties on a plate and cover. If not frying right away, refrigerate.

  3. Light an outdoor grill for direct heat or heat a grill pan on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Brush the grill grate with vegetable oil, add the patties, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until medium-rare. Place the cooked patties on lettuce leaves placed on buns and top with onion jam.
