Meatloaf is a go-to dish for home cooks. It's easy to make, requires minimal ingredients, and requires very little prep time, allowing for endless experimentation with ingredients and fillings.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 650 g ready ground beef with beer (from Sandra Lee's Burgers recipe)
  • 1/3 cup remaining red onion jam (from Sandra Lee's Burgers recipe)
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup ketchup, divided

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat with all ingredients except 2 tablespoons of ketchup. Form the mixture into loaves in a baking dish.
  2. Brush the top and sides of the "bread" with the remaining ketchup. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 1 hour. Transfer to a serving platter and serve.
