S'mores are a dessert traditionally made over a campfire, popular in the US and Canada, where they are loved by children and adults alike. The name itself, a shortened version of the English phrase "a little more," speaks volumes about how delicious this treat is. The classic recipe combines melted chocolate with gooey toasted marshmallows and crunchy graham crackers. However, there's no harm in adding a little variety. Experiment with different flavors of chocolate, adding nuts, jam, or dried fruit. Experiment and enjoy!

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 8 sheets of wholemeal honey cookies (Graham cracker)
  • 1 bar of milk chocolate (120g), such as Hershey's, broken into 8 pieces
  • A pinch of coarse salt
  • 8 large marshmallow

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat grill to medium-low heat (residual heat from a smoldering charcoal grill or a cooling gas grill will also work).
  2. Break each Graham cracker crosswise into 2 squares. Working with 1 or 2 s'mores at a time, place the cookie squares on a piece of foil and top with a dollop of chocolate and a pinch of coarse salt. Grill on the edge of the grill until the chocolate is hot and softened (about 30 seconds) to create chocolate-covered cookies.

  3. Place the chocolate-covered graham cracker squares near the grill (since the toasted marshmallows will become soft and begin to drip off the skewer, it's best to spoon the melted marshmallows directly onto the prepared cookies). Working with several marshmallows at a time, thread them onto a long fork or metal skewer and hold them over the grill, about 2 inches from the grate. Toast, turning occasionally, until the marshmallows are puffed and golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. How to assemble the dessertTake two chocolate-covered Graham cracker squares. Without removing the marshmallow from the skewer, place a marshmallow on the graham cracker, then use another graham cracker to press down and remove from the skewer. Enjoy the s'mores warm, while the marshmallow is still chewy and at its most delicious.
