Chocolate S'mores Sauce with Graham Crackers

How to Make Chocolate S'mores with Graham Crackers
Kitchen:American,
Time: 30 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 6 - 8

S'mores are an American campfire dessert made by roasting marshmallows on sticks and sandwiching them, along with a piece of chocolate, between two graham crackers. Incredibly simple and delicious, this recipe offers a s'more-like experience at home, in the form of a dessert dip. Homemade chocolate sauce is topped with a layer of mini marshmallows, and the top is toasted in the oven on the broiler until the aroma of burnt caramel emerges. For convenience, you can also use store-bought chocolate sauce. Dip crackers, pretzels, or even potato chips into the dip and enjoy with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 110 g semi-sweet chocolate granules
  • 0.5 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 heaping cup mini marshmallows
  • Graham crackers, pretzels, potato chips, for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine chocolate chips, heavy cream, corn syrup, butter, and 1/8 teaspoon salt (see Note) in an 8-inch cast iron skillet. Place over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a boil. Simmer for 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Reduce the heat if the sauce reaches a full boil. Remove from heat and let cool for at least 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat oven to grill mode.
  • Step 3
  • Cover the chocolate sauce with a single, thick layer of mini marshmallows. Place in the oven and broil until the marshmallows are toasted, 2-3 minutes. Watch the dip carefully, otherwise the marshmallows will burn quickly. Serve immediately with dipping sauce.
  • Step 4
  • Note

If you don't have a small cast-iron skillet, you can make the sauce in a saucepan and transfer it to a baking dish for easy browning. For a quicker recipe, you can also use 1.5 cups of store-bought sauce.
