Oven-baked sandwiches can be made with fruit. This combination of ingredients will be a hit at your family celebration. A toasted slice of baguette offers a wonderful combination of sweet apple butter, smoked Italian prosciutto, juicy pears and apples, and savory, chewy Brie cheese. Slice all ingredients very thinly, and substitute apple butter with apple jam. Layer everything on bread slices and bake until the cheese melts and the juices meld. Serve this appetizer with wine, and you'll see it disappear before you know it.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 loaf of crusty French bread
- 4 tbsp (60 g) butter, softened
- 1 tbsp. apple butter
- 16 thin slices prosciutto, about 100g
- 2 pears or apples, thinly sliced
- 450 g Brie cheese, thinly sliced
- Olive oil to drizzle

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 230°C.
Slice the bread into 16 1/2-inch-thick slices. Butter each side of the slice and place them on a baking sheet. Spread 1 tablespoon of apple butter on each slice. - Top with 1 slice of prosciutto and 3-4 slices of pear or apple. Cover with cheese slices, season with salt and pepper, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until the cheese is melted, 8-10 minutes.
