A traditional Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and feta cheese, paired with cooked pasta, creates a complete and filling meal that can be served on its own or as a side dish with meat or poultry. All vegetables are cut into roughly equal-sized pieces, and before serving, the salad is dressed with a refreshing mixture of olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, and shallots. Serve immediately and enjoy the vibrant Mediterranean flavors in every spoonful.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 220 g ziti pasta (tubes)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 small shallot, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber
  • 0.5 cup crumbled feta
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup pitted Kalamata olives, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a large saucepan, bring salted water to a boil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, vinegar, shallot, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of black pepper.

  3. Place the pasta in boiling water and cook according to package directions. Drain and rinse the pasta under cold water to cool; place in a bowl with the dressing.
  4. Add the cucumber, feta, parsley, olives, and tomatoes to a bowl and toss. Season with salt and pepper to taste. This pasta salad is best served immediately.
