If you're hosting a beer party, in addition to the traditional beer-themed appetizers, serve a giant pretzel filled with a savory, soft beer cheese filling. To make it, stretch room-temperature pizza dough into a five-foot-long rope and roll it into a pretzel shape. Then, brush the pretzel with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt. After baking, simply cut it in half horizontally, spread with cheese, and close it like a sandwich. Each guest can break off a piece.

Bring 2 pounds (0.9 kg) of pizza dough to room temperature (this may take up to 2 hours). Roll it out and stretch it into a 6-foot (150 cm) rope, then form a U-shape on a parchment-lined baking sheet, letting the ends hang over the sides. Lift the ends and twist them twice, then press the ends down to form a pretzel shape. Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse salt, and bake at 450°F (230°C) until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let cool completely, then cut the pretzel in half horizontally and spread with softened beer cheese.
