This sandwich makes a hearty breakfast, a quick snack on the go, or even a great appetizer for a house party if cut into smaller portions. For quicker and easier assembly, spoon the filling directly onto a long baguette sliced ​​in half lengthwise. Spread the bread with a cream cheese spread with fresh herbs, then top it with fried chicken sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. You can top the filling with hot sauce if desired. It's a very filling and delicious sandwich. Serve this sandwich while you're cozy in front of the TV while watching sports.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • Half a 220g package of whipped cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 4 ready-made chicken sausages with apple
  • 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup light cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup grated aged Swiss cheese (about 90 g)
  • 1 baguette 60 cm long.
  • Hot sauce, for serving (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Prepare cheese spreadIn a bowl, combine the cream cheese, chives, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Preheat the oven to broil. Slice each sausage lengthwise, cutting about three-quarters of the way through, then open them up so they lay flat. Heat the olive oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the sausages until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Set them aside and wipe out the pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the cream and 1/4 teaspoon of salt and black pepper. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the egg mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until the bottom is set, about 1 minute. Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the Swiss cheese, and stir until the eggs are set.

  3. Assembling a sandwichSlice the baguette in half lengthwise and lightly toast in the oven using the grill setting. Spread cheese spread on the top half of the baguette. Place sausages on the bottom half. Top with an egg and cover with the top half. Slice into several sandwiches and serve with hot sauce.
