Belgian waffles aren't just for eating with syrup: they're also great for sandwiches. This sweet sandwich with chocolate spread, fresh strawberries, and bananas is perfect for both breakfast and dessert. To keep the chocolate spread from being overly sweet, mix it with an equal amount of whipped cream cheese. It adds a pleasant tartness that pairs well with the fruit. If desired, you can add a spoonful of peanut or almond butter to the sandwich for even more flavor!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • 2 tbsp. whipped cream cheese
  • 2 frozen waffles, not soured milk (or Belgian)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large strawberries, cut into pieces
  • Half a small banana, peeled and cut into about 6 lengthwise wedges

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon and set aside. In another small bowl, combine the chocolate-hazelnut spread and cream cheese until smooth; set aside.
  2. Toast the waffles until golden brown. Brush both sides of each waffle with melted butter and sprinkle both sides with cinnamon sugar.

  3. Spread both halves of the waffle evenly with the chocolate-raw spread. Arrange the strawberries and bananas on one waffle and top with the second waffle.
