Make a sandwich with two croutons and chocolate-hazelnut spread, which will heat up and become like a delicious thick sauce.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 4 eggs (category CO)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) butter
  • 8 thick slices (1.5 cm thick) brioche bread or challah
  • 8 tablespoons chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • Maple syrup Category B or powdered sugar for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk and salt. Working with one portion at a time, melt a little butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture and quickly transfer them to the skillet.
  2. Fry 2 slices of bread at a time until golden brown, then flip and fry until golden brown on the other side. Spread 2 tablespoons of chocolate-hazelnut spread on each slice of toasted bread and top with another slice. Gently press with a spatula to adhere the pieces. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Serve the toasted bread with Category B maple syrup or powdered sugar.

  3. Roasted and chopped hazelnuts make a beautiful and delicious garnish. They also go delicious with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. You could even try making a fruit sauce, perhaps for Mom on Mother's Day. She'll be very pleased with both the sauce and you.
