Forget the cheese! These golden, sweet quesadillas are filled with chocolate-hazelnut spread and fresh berries. If desired, add marshmallows for a gooey filling just like cheese. You can fold the tortilla into a patty or fold it in half. Serve this dessert quesadilla for breakfast or as a dessert.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 4 8-inch (20 cm) wheat tortillas, cut in half
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • 0.5 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • Eight 0.5 cm thick slices of fresh fruit (banana, strawberry, plum will do) or 8 marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place 1 tortilla half on a clean work surface, rounded side facing you. Brush the edges of the tortilla with egg wash. Spoon 1 tablespoon of chocolate-hazelnut spread into the center of the tortilla and top with a piece of fruit or marshmallow. Fold one side of the tortilla over the filling, bringing the corner to the 6 o'clock position, and press to seal.
  2. Fold the other side over the filling so that the two edges overlap slightly and the corner is also at the 6 o'clock position. Seal the filling inside. The quesadilla will look like a triangular patty. Repeat with the remaining tortilla halves and filling.

  3. In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter and fry half the quesadillas until deep golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Wipe out the pan and fry the remaining quesadillas in the same manner. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
