These sandwich rolls, or lavash rolls, are perfect for a filling snack or appetizer at a family gathering. They're also easy to make ahead of time, so you can refrigerate them and cut them into convenient rolls just before serving. Use different colored lavash rolls to make the appetizer more interesting. Serve the sandwich rolls with bowls of mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and chipotle mayonnaise for dipping and enjoying.

Ingredients:


Sandwich rolls
  • 6 lavash or tortillas of different colors/flavors (2 red, 2 green, 2 white)
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 450 g of ground turkey
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 450 g of shaved smoked ham

Chipotle mayonnaise
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, diced
  • To serve: mayonnaise and Dijon mustard
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Sandwich rolls:


    On each pita, place 2 slices of American cheese, a layer of turkey slices, a layer of lettuce, and finally a layer of shaved ham. Roll each pita into a large roll and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for several hours.
  • Step 2
  • Chipotle mayonnaise:


    In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, diced chipotle peppers, salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Step 3
  • When ready to serve, remove the rolls from the refrigerator and cut each into 4-5 thick rolls. Serve with chipotle mayonnaise, regular mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.
