The main difference between a club sandwich and its many other sandwiches is its triangular shape. It was first created within the walls of one of the oldest private gentlemen's clubs in New York City, hence its name. There are numerous variations of this sandwich, depending on the ingredients you place between two slices of bread. But the classic club sandwich always contains only vegetables, bacon, turkey, and mayonnaise. Despite its self-contained and filling nature, a club sandwich is traditionally eaten with a side of French fries or chips and pickled vegetables.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Toast the bread in a toaster or in a grill oven on both sides. Cut each lettuce leaf in half and stack into 8 neat stacks.
- Make a double-decker sandwich. Lay three slices of bread in a row on a clean surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice, dividing it three times. Layer one lettuce stack and two tomato slices on the first slice of bread, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Then place two pieces of bacon on top of the tomatoes (if necessary, cut off the protruding edges so that the stack looks neat), the next layer is 55 grams (or 1/8 part) of the prepared turkeys (the edges should not hang down).
- Season the turkey with salt and pepper to taste. Do the same with the second piece of bread. Next, carefully place the second sandwich on top of the first one, with the turkey on top. Top the entire sandwich with the third piece of bread, mayonnaise side down.
- Pierce the sandwich in 4 places to form a diamond shape. Use the remaining ingredients to make three more servings.
Using a serrated knife, cut each sandwich diagonally into 4 triangles (the skewers should be in the center of each triangle). Serve with fries and pickled cucumbers.
