Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 60 ml Irish whiskey
  • 30 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Irish lager as a filler
  • Lemon twist for garnish
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Make simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 1/4 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool. (You'll get 110 ml; the syrup can be refrigerated for up to 1 month.)
  • Step 2
  • Combine whiskey, lemon juice, and 15 ml of the prepared syrup in a shaker; fill with ice. Shake well; strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with lager and garnish with a lemon twist.
