Striking layered cocktails are the best way to impress guests not only with the beautiful presentation of the drink but also with the combination of flavors. Although the technique of layering drinks is quite old, it will never go out of style. Try the combination of strong stout, coffee, and cream in this cocktail that will transport you to an Irish pub.


Ingredients:

  • 1 large ice cube
  • 60 ml. stout, for example Guinness
  • 15 ml coffee liqueur, such as Mr. Black
  • Ice cubes
  • 90 ml cold heavy cream
  • 30 ml Curacao
  • Coffee beans
  • Special equipment: cocktail shaker, ice, spoon or funnel for layered cocktails Vacu Vin
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place a large ice cube in a wide-mouthed, stemmed cocktail glass. Using the back of a large spoon, carefully pour the stout into the glass over the ice cube. Carefully pour the coffee liqueur over the ice cube.
  • Step 2
  • Add some ice, heavy cream and curaçao to a shaker and shake until smooth.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the cream into the glass using the back of a spoon to create an even layer. Garnish with a couple of coffee beans and serve immediately.
