These mini sandwiches on potato buns are easy for little hands to hold, making them a perfect school snack. Each sandwich is packed with flavor (thanks to the mayo and barbecue sauce) and protein from the roasted turkey and bacon. For a healthier option, swap out the fried bacon for real ham. Pack the sandwiches in containers, topped with cherry tomatoes and small pickles for garnish.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 8 small potato buns
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. barbecue sauce
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves, torn into pieces
  • 2 slices fried bacon or 1 slice ham (or Canadian bacon)
  • 4 thin slices roast turkey (about 60 g)
  • 1 cup grape or cherry tomatoes
  • Pickled or salted cucumbers

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Cut the potato buns in half and toast them in a toaster or broiler. Spread a little mayonnaise and barbecue sauce on the bottom and top halves of each bun. Layer them with lettuce, bacon or ham, and turkey.
  2. Cover with the top half of the bun. Place in an airtight container and send to school.
