Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 250 g thinly sliced ​​ham
  • 8 - 12 cut potato buns for mini burgers
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (from 2 oranges)
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 2 cups chopped pineapple (1/2 medium pineapple)
  • 2 cups chopped pineapple (1/2 medium pineapple)
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (remove veins and seeds for a less spicy flavor)
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine orange juice, vinegar, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons water in a medium saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Add the pineapple, red onion, and jalapeño.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens, 15 to 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Cool.

  3. Place the ham in the buns. Top with the sweet and sour pineapple.
