Soft and sweet, golden-crust French toast soaked in egg custard is always delicious, and when topped with a fruit filling, it becomes an exquisite dessert everyone will adore. Making these toasts is much easier than you might imagine. For an elegant serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries and a mint leaf.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon + extra for sprinkling
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 12 slices brioche, about 1 cm thick.
  • 170 g of apple pie filling
  • 170 gr. cherry pie filling
  • Cooking spray
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat an electric grill or grill pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and sugar until smooth.

  3. Place 6 slices of bread on a baking sheet and lightly brush the edges with egg wash. Make a "pocket" in the center of each slice of bread for the filling. Spoon 2 teaspoons of apple or cherry pie filling into the center of each bread pocket.
  4. Take the remaining 6 slices and brush the edges with the egg mixture. Place the bread over the filling and seal the edges with your fingers.
  5. Dip the stuffed bread into the egg mixture and place in a greased skillet; cook for 6-8 minutes, turning once, until lightly browned. Sprinkle with cinnamon and/or powdered sugar.
