1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 thick slices white bread (about 3/4 white sandwich bread, cut into 2cm slices)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat the oven to 120°C and place a rack over a baking sheet. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  2. In a glass pie dish or casserole, whisk the eggs and milk. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add about 1/2 tablespoon of butter, swirling the pan to coat the surface. Dip 2 slices of bread into the egg mixture and immediately place them in the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and cook until the bottoms are browned and crispy, about 4 minutes. If needed, add a nut-sized amount of butter to the pan and flip the toast over, cooking until golden brown on the other side, about 3 minutes more.

  3. Serve the toast immediately or transfer it to a wire rack in a warm oven to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining bread and eggs. Serve with jam or maple syrup.
