Alton Brown's French Toast is a winner in the "Everyday Recipe" category, and it's made with just a few ingredients you might already have in your home.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

- 1 cup low-fat cream (10-12%)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tbsp. honey, heated in the microwave for 20 seconds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 slices (1.5 cm thick) rustic bread, buns or challah, day-old or stale
- 4 tbsp (60 g) butter

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream, eggs, honey, and salt. You can do this the day before. Before cooking, pour this sweet batter into a wide bowl.
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Dip the bread in the batter, let it soak for 30 seconds on each side, and place it on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Let it rest for 1-2 minutes.
- Melt 1 tablespoon (15 g) butter in a 25 cm (10 in) nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Place 2 slices of bread in the skillet and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and place on a wire rack in the oven for 5 minutes. Repeat with all the bread slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup, whipped cream, or fruit.
