If you have some Nutella left at the bottom of your jar, it's time to make a delicious chocolate ice cream sauce. It's made right in the jar—a great way to use up every last gram of Nutella. The sauce is thick and velvety, the perfect consistency for drizzling over ice cream.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream, plus extra for serving
  • 1 nearly empty chocolate hazelnut spread jar with about 1/4 cup spread inside, such as Nutella (see Note)
  • A spoonful of whipped cream, optional

Recipes with similar ingredients: chocolate-nut butter

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Add vanilla ice cream to the nearly empty jar of chocolate-hazelnut spread. Microwave for 30 seconds. Add whipped cream, if using, then cover tightly and shake vigorously until a thick sauce forms, about 30 seconds.
  2. Serve with ice cream.

    Note

Before microwaving a jar of chocolate spread, make sure there is no foil left on the rim.
