Time: 40 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: for a large company

If you're looking for a quick and filling meat appetizer for a crowd, try frying Swedish meatballs! They cook in just 10 minutes in the air fryer, turning out deliciously crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The meatballs are formed from a mixture of ground beef and pork with a little milk-soaked white bread, onion, egg, and spices. To serve, thread each meatball onto a skewer, arrange them on a platter, and serve with lingonberry jam, a classic topping for Swedish meatballs.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place the bread in a medium bowl and soak in milk for 5 minutes. Squeeze out any excess milk and tear the bread into bite-sized pieces. Mix the bread with the ground beef, pork, onion, allspice, egg, 1 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Form into small balls, each about 1 tablespoon in size.
  2. Spray the basket of a 3.5-quart air fryer with cooking spray and fill it with the meatballs. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook, shaking the bowl once, until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Serve with lingonberry jam.
