To make these fries, you don't need to buy pre-cut frozen potatoes, nor do you need a deep fryer. The air fryer gives you the same golden, crispy flavor with just one teaspoon of olive oil! Cut the potatoes into strips and rinse thoroughly to remove as much starch as possible. Fry one medium potato at a time for crispy fries just like the best restaurant fare. This snack is safe for kids to eat.

Recipe:

  • 1 medium potato (about 170 g), do not peel
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Special equipment: air fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (193°C) and spray the basket with cooking spray.

Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, then slice into 0.5 cm thick slices. Cut the slices into 0.5 cm thick bars. Place the potatoes in a bowl and rinse well with cold water, then drain and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels.

In a medium bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and black pepper to taste. Working in batches if necessary, spread the potatoes in an even layer, without overlapping, and cook, turning halfway through, until golden brown, 14-16 minutes. Season with salt.
