Chicken wings in an air fryer

How to Cook Chicken Wings in an Air Fryer
Kitchen:American,
Time: 40 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 2 - 4

Cook famous Buffalo wings without deep-frying, in an air fryer! They'll turn out just as crispy without the extra fat. Place the chicken wings, cut at the joints, in the air fryer so the pieces don't touch and the heat circulates freely, creating a crispy crust on all sides. When the wings are done, top them with a mixture of melted butter and hot sauce. Serve with the traditional Buffalo wing blue cheese sauce or any other dairy-based sauce, such as ranch.

Ingredients:

  • 0.9 kg chicken wings, cut at the joints, discard the tips
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tbsp. hot sauce
  • Ranch sauce or blue cheese dressing, for serving
  • Special equipment: air grill with a capacity of 3.5 liters.
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Spray the 3.5-quart air fryer basket with cooking spray and set aside. Pat the chicken wings dry and generously season with salt. Place them in the air fryer basket so the wings aren't touching (or lay them on their sides if necessary). Set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and fry for 12 minutes, then flip the wings with tongs and fry for another 12 minutes. Flip the wings again, increase the temperature to 200°C (400°F), and fry until crispy, about 6 more minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, microwave the butter until melted, about 1 minute. Stir in the hot sauce.
  • Step 3
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with the oil mixture to coat completely and serve with the dipping sauce.
