Chicken wings are generously rubbed with a dry spice blend and grilled, then basted with a sticky sauce before serving. A blend of spices like smoked paprika, garlic salt, and onion powder ensures every bite is packed with flavor. Serve with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Spice mix

  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 0.5 tbsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tbsp. l. smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3 whole chicken wings, cut in half (discard the tips)
  • Canola oil to grease the grill
  • Brown sugar for sprinkling (about 1/4 cup)

Honey Hot Sauce

  • 0.5 cup + 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 0.5 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tbsp chopped thyme
  • 1 cm peeled ginger root, finely chopped

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Spice mix:

    Combine garlic salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl, then rub the mixture over the wings.
  2. Brush the grill grate with oil and grill the wings over medium heat, covered with a bowl, until cooked through and golden brown on each side, 10–12 minutes per side and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the bowl a few minutes before the end of the cooking time and sprinkle the wings with brown sugar.

  3. Sauce:

    In a bowl, combine honey, Sriracha sauce, mirin, Dijon mustard, thyme, and ginger. Brush the wings with a little of the sauce and serve with the remaining sauce.
