The secret to these incredibly delicious and tender wings is that they're slowly simmered in a sweet and spicy Chinese barbecue sauce in a slow cooker. To ensure the wings are deliciously crispy, quickly grill them in the oven at the very end to caramelize the sauce.

- 1.3 kg chicken wings, cut in half (tips removed)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons lightly salted soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh ginger
- 1/4 tsp Chinese Five Spice Powder
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally, for serving

- Step 1
- Place the chicken wings in a slow cooker and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt. In a small bowl, combine the honey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, ginger, and five-spice powder. Step 2
- Pour the sauce over the wings and toss. Cover and cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until the wings are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 2.5 hours. Step 3
- Preheat the oven to broil. Line a baking sheet with foil. Using tongs or a slotted spoon, transfer the wings to the baking sheet. Step 4
- Drizzle about 1/2 cup of sauce over the wings; discard any remaining sauce. Grill in the oven, turning once, until golden brown, about 6 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions and serve hot.
