As the name suggests, these chicken wings taste like a bowl of chili con carne. First, marinate the wings in a thick paste of chili powder, sugar, vinegar, vegetable oil, and chipotle peppers, then grill until crispy. A few minutes before they're done, brush the wings with the paste again to create a delicious glaze. Grab plenty of napkins and enjoy!

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 0.5 tbsp. chili powder
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil + extra for greasing the grill
  • 0.5 tsp ground chipotle pepper
  • 1.8 kg chicken wings, halved and patted dry (tips removed)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a bowl, combine the chili powder, sugar, vinegar, oil, chipotle pepper, 1 tablespoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to form a thick paste. Place half of the paste in a large zip-lock plastic bag.
  2. Place the wings in a bag and seal. Massage the wings in the bag to evenly coat them with the mixture. Marinate in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours.

  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat; lightly oil the grates. Grill the wings until the skin is crispy, 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  4. Brush the wings with the remaining spice mixture and continue grilling until the glaze sets, about 2 more minutes. Transfer the wings to a platter and serve.
