Caribbean-Style Jerk Chicken Wings - A Step-by-Step Recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 18 chicken wings

Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp. ready barbecue sauce with mustard
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 can (170 gr.) pineapple pulp
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Ready-made Jerk seasoning (see recipe below)

Jerk seasoning:
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 finely chopped chili pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp. apple or grape vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green onions
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • Salt (to taste)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

    Prepare the sauce by combining all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until heated through.

    Rub the wings with jerk seasoning. Grill for 10-12 minutes or until cooked through. Brush generously with sauce and serve.
