Ingredients:


For the wings:
  • 1.4 kg chicken wings, cut at the joints (tips removed)
  • Salt and ground black pepper

For the Citrus Margarita sauce:
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1 tsp. grated lime zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. l. agave syrup
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. adobo sauce
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare the wings: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Season the wings with salt and pepper and place them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and crispy, about 45 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, combine lime zest and juice, tequila, agave syrup, cumin, adobo sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Pour this mixture over the warm wings and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Preheat the grill to high. Grill the wings until crispy, 10-15 minutes, turning as needed. Transfer the marinade to the pan and simmer until slightly thickened, about 8 minutes (you can also grill). Pour the sauce over the wings and sprinkle with cilantro, if desired.
