Chicken wings in mustard glaze

If you're not a fan of spicy appetizers, this recipe is for you: chicken wings in a honey-mustard glaze with garlic. There's no chili pepper or hot sauce in this recipe, but the wings are delicious and spicy. Plus, they're baked, not deep-fried.

Ingredients:

  • Vegetable oil for greasing
  • 1.8 kg chicken wings, cut in half (tips removed)
  • 3/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • 3 tbsp mustard powder
  • 0.5 tsp finely grated garlic
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Position oven racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 230°C (430°F). Grease 2 large baking sheets with vegetable oil.
  • Step 2
  • Pat the wings dry, sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Arrange on baking sheets and bake, turning once, until golden brown, 40–45 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Meanwhile, combine Dijon mustard, honey, mustard powder and garlic in a bowl.
  • Step 4
  • Remove the wings from the oven and sprinkle with the mustard mixture. Continue baking until the glaze sets, another 3–5 minutes.
