Fried wings in a sticky honey glaze

How to Make - Fried Wings in a Sticky Honey Glaze
Kitchen:Hawaiian,
Time: 2 hours 25 minutes
Complexity: easily
Servings: 6 - 8

An incredibly simple recipe for fried chicken wings in a sticky glaze. You don't need a deep fryer or oven for this recipe. The chicken wings are marinated for several hours in soy sauce with ginger, fresh cilantro, garlic, and lemon juice. Then, infused with vibrant flavors, they're pan-fried in a mixture of olive oil, butter, and honey. As the wings cook through, the glaze thickens and coats the outside. The result is a deliciously sticky glaze that infuses the wings with the sweet and spicy flavors of Polynesian cuisine. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 0.9 kg chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
  • 1 cup lightly salted soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Juice of half a lemon
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Rinse the chicken wings and pat dry with paper towels. Trim the tips and discard; separate each wing at the joint. Place the wings in a shallow bowl and toss with the soy sauce, ginger, cilantro, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat; marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Step 2
  • Remove the wings from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels; season with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and olive oil. When the butter stops foaming, add the honey and chicken wings and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes. Continue cooking the wings, turning them frequently to coat with the glaze as it thickens. Cook until the wings are sticky and cooked through. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
