Grilled Honey Glazed Bacon Wrapped Shrimp - A Step-by-Step Recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 0.9 kg king prawns (about 24 in total, peeled)
  • 12 pieces of bacon
  • Olive oil 1/4 cup
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with foil. Preheat grill to medium.

    Place the bacon on a baking sheet and bake until half-cooked, about 8 minutes. Place the bacon on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to cool completely and absorb the oil.
  • Step 2
  • Combine olive oil, garlic, and lemon zest in a large bowl. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and add to the olive oil mixture. Marinate while the bacon cools, about 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Combine honey, sauce, and smoked paprika in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Set aside.
  • Step 4
  • Once the bacon has cooled, wrap each shrimp in half a slice of bacon and secure it to a skewer. Insert the skewer through the center of the shrimp and through the bacon. Thread 3 shrimp onto the skewer.

    Grill the shrimp until the bacon is crisp and the shrimp are opaque. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side. Brush the shrimp with the glaze 3 minutes before the end of cooking.
